Lyrics: Iota Centauri, Supermassive
These are the lyrics to my album, SUPERMASSIVE, written and recorded under my solo project, IOTA CENTAURI.
This album came from a place of deep emotion. I wrote it in the midst of caring for my beloved dog, Remus, as he neared the end of his life. He had been by my side for many years, and during those final days, I poured everything I was feeling into these songs.
The entire album was written in just two weeks, then recorded, mixed, and mastered over the following couple of months.
SUPERMASSIVE is a love letter to Remus. It’s also about past relationships, heartbreak, grief, and the kind of loss that reshapes you. I wanted to share the lyrics here, in case they resonate with anyone else who’s loved deeply—and had to let go.
Supermassive
A faint shimmer quivers, barely remembered,
Lost in the weight of unending silence,
Somewhere, a pulse breaks through the stillness,
Fragile, but aching to outlast the darkness.
Silence Breaking
Through Darkness
Between the Stars and Silence
If time rewinds, maybe fated orbits will align,
And heal the void where silence draws this fragile line.
Alone, I float, a speck in galaxies unkind,
Between stars and silence, love is left behind.
Alone, I float, a speck in galaxies unkind,
A line snapped, I drift where endless shadows lie,
The ghost of every word dissolving in the sky.
Between stars and silence, love is left behind.
Lullaby for a Dying Sun
Your voice, is a flicker, the language of fire
fading into silence beyond time
the edge of time
(I’ll hear you)
And when it vanishes
Nothing is remembered
Your glow folding into the waiting void
Slowly sinking beyond the reach, the reach of dawn
The reach of dawn
(I’ll see you)
And when it vanishes
Nothing is remembered
Only an emptiness
Where light once lived
Stasis
Planets circle endlessly, held to their routines
Paths inscribed in the fabric of existence.
Each orbit echoes monotony, not melody,
Reiterating movements in circles, in circles.
In this stasis, the heart petrifies,
Holding to patterns too familiar to question.
No love, no loss, no breath of defiance—
Only the infinite stretch of unbroken trial.
Time’s mirror shows only repetition—
Symmetry of what is and what has always been.
Yet beneath inertia lies an unnamed yearning—
A quiet plea for disruption, the end of chains.
Lights That Never Fade
We walk forward, not for guarantees
but for the beauty of the search itself.
The lights remain, steadfast and silent,
waiting for those who choose to see.
Do You Hear Yourself? Do You Hear Anything at All?
We were both satellites in an endless dance,
Always Spinning close, but we lost the chance.
Now your voice is static on the line,
Just a fading echo of what once was mine.
Do you hear yourself? Do you hear anything at all?
Do you hear yourself?
Do you hear yourself?
The Gravity of Farewell
The cradle of stars, where time holds its breath,
The gravity of farewell tethers us,
An unseen pull collapsing
Space between what was and what is.
Weight of your fading pulls me toward stillness.
Your eyes now hold a quiet flicker,
A soft, retreating light.
Steps falter, caught in, the slow decay of time.
Memories orbit like satellites, unyielding.
The way you found my love.
The warmth of you, pressed close,
A star’s heat, in, the coldest nights.
Whispers in cosmic harmonies:
This is rhythm etched in existence.
Every ascent, a descent.
Every dawn, a dusk.
When you go, my dear companion,
You will not vanish.
Your memory drifts among constellations,
Love etched forever in my sky.
A memory, a constant, holding me steady
As I learn to let go.
